Frogs and a Snake - Kids Story and Activity Book
The pictorial form of application depicts following story for your kid:
Once upon a time there was a pond in a jungle. A big group of frogs headed by a king lived in this pond happily. This pond provided everything the food, water and shelter required to the frogs.
One day a big snake was passing by the pond. Suddenly he saw the frogs playing in the pond. He stopped, hid behind a tree and started watching them.
His mouth filled with water. He couldn’t resist the temptation to eat the frogs. Then a shrewd smile came on his face. He made a plan to eat the frogs.
The next day he settled on a branch of a tree, pretending as if he is very sad and inactive. A frog saw this. He got surprised to see the snake in this condition.
The frog fearfully went near to the snake and asked the reason of his sorrow. Then the snake said, “Dear! I bit a saint’s son by mistake and he died. Then the saint got annoyed with me...”
He continued, “…and due to the sorrow he cursed me that I have to be a vehicle for you frogs and have to take you where ever you want to go on my back. I have to serve you to become free from the saint’s curse. That’s why I am here.”
The frog hurried happily to the king and told the whole story. The king became happy to know that a snake would serve them and they got a convenient mean of transport.
The next day the king gathered all his people and went to the snake. The king ordered the snake to take them for a ride around the pond. The snake served the frogs for the whole day without doing any harm.
The next day, the king who was very happy with the snake’s service, went again to the snake and asked for a ride. The snake said cleverly, “O king! I am feeling very weak due to the hunger. Please forgive me, I am unable to move.”
The king got disappointed. He didn’t like the obstacle in his entertainment. Hastily he found a convenient solution for this problem. He allowed the snake to eat 3 or 4 frogs every day and that was what the snake wanted.
After that the snake ate a few frogs quietly every day so that the other frogs couldn’t know his truth. Now the snake used to get easy food without doing any hard work. He was getting fat day by day.
After filling his stomach, the snake used to take the other frogs and the king for a ride every day. The number of the frogs went on decreasing.
A day came when no frog remained in the pond except the king. At last the snake ate the king. The frog king allowed the snake to eat a few frogs every day for his own pleasure without thinking of the long term results of his decision.
The king’s one wrong decision finished the frogs from the pond. Moral of the story is “Think before you do something, otherwise you may have to repent afterwards.”
